Interested in quilting? We planned this class especially for beginners to give it a try, and it’s gonna be lots of fun!
Bianca Howell, of Owl & Drum Fabrics, will walk you through all the steps to sew a classic Sawtooth Star. You’ll learn how to prepare your fabric for cutting, use a rotary cutter and ruler, follow a 1/4” seam, and sew the pieces together to create this timeless quilt block.
After the class, you can make more blocks for a whole quilt top, or use your single block to embellish a garment, bag, pillow, curtain- whatever!
Please not that you do need sewing experience experience for this class. Knowledge equal to our Beginner Sewing Class is perfect! Look for our Beginner Classes or check out our private lessons here !
Materials:
3 coordinating fat quarters (get them at our shop! You can include them in your purchase of the class, drop by to choose them, or just pick them out the day of the class)
Tools: (We have ALL of these to share in our studio. no stress!)
Acrylic Quilt ruler - 6” by 24” or at least 6" x 12" or 3” x 18”
Rotary mat - at least 12" x 12"
Rotary cutter
Fabric marking pen/pencil
Straight pins
Sewing machine & neutral thread
Starch
Iron
