The workshop will provide an accessible introduction to natural dyes and share techniques that need a minimum of equipment, time, and funds. You’ll learn how to use natural dyes without the mess and hassle of stewing plants on your stove! Using flowers, recycled jars, and the sun, we will create beautifully dyed fabric and thread through solar dyeing. All materials will be provided.
This workshop focuses on natural dye methods that lead to fully dyed fibers anddon’t require the use of a pot and burner. We will cover all the basics of natural dyeing including: collecting useful plants, preparing fibers, dyeing, and modifying dyed items to achieve even more colors! Students will also be guided through a list of essential supplies and resources designed for first-time natural dyers.
$60 includes the solar dye kit and expert instruction!
