Our brilliant hand sewing teacher, Elizabeth Martin of Tiny Art Garage, has been busy planning amazing new projects! (And putting new products on the shelf!) First up, a mini Log Cabin quilt block coaster!
In this beginner-friendly workshop, we will use everyday fabric scraps to build a hand-quilted coaster using your interpretation of the traditional Log Cabin block pattern.
We will use essential hand-sewing techniques, including using a running stitch with 1/4-inch seam allowances, finger-pressing and basting for smooth seams, and self binding the coaster with an invisible or visible stitches. I’ll also show you how I measure a length of thread, thread the needle, and knot the thread at the beginning & ending.
No sewing machine is required- This is a portable project:)
