Add some color and design to your knitting with Jen Marquez Ginn of Morel Fiber Arts! She’ll teach you about the different colorwork styles in knitting, such as intarsia and mosaic knitting, and you’ll try your hand at stranded colorwork on a cup cozy you can take home with you!
In this class, we’ll be introducing techniques such as knitting in the round, long tail cast-on, alternating between two or more colors, and using a ribbed sewn bind off. Being comfortable with the basics such as casting on, knit stitch, and purl stitch will be helpful for this class.
Materials needed are size US 7 or 8 double-pointed or circular needles as well as scissors or snips and a tapestry needle. You’re welcome to bring your own, or there will be materials available for purchase. We’re happy to help you shop our selection to get you set up with what you’ll need! (For under $15.)
Yarn kits of 25 grams of 3 different colors of Kelbourne Woolens Germantown worsted weight wool are available as an add-on to your registration for $16. Choose between blues and grey (Cool kit) or pinks and beige (Warm kit). You can also bring 25g each of 3 worsted weight yarns to practice with!
